Featuring roller skates, a rainbow, and a sense of fun, we've also incorporated the Inktober theme of 'knot'. The drawing showcases Darcy's personal items, including her acronym list, iPad, and a ribbon that once frustrated her while wrapping a gift. Darcy, Glial Cells "I am grateful for the chance to involve my daughter in my Cajal research. Together, we have visited the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, the Instituto Cajal in Madrid, Spain, and exhibitions such as The Beautiful Brain. Throughout the years, I've created cameo illustrations of her in my Cajal Inventory series. In this piece, you'll find her portrait combined with a reimagined depiction of Cajal's glial cells from the cerebral cortex of a child." - Dawn Hunter

Darcy, Steam Punk June in Bloom: is a vibrant piece that draws inspiration from Dawn's daughter Darcy, Warhol, and Prince. The work is influenced by Warhol's renowned Prince portrait, which was involved in a copyright dispute with Lynn Goldsmith. In this original creation, the artist captures Darcy, color matching, thematic elements, and the essence of Prince's Sign o' the Times tours without referencing a specific photograph. Acrylic, ink, marker and pen on paper, 11" x 14."

Drawing inspiration from Johannes Vermeer's "The Girl with a Pearl Earring," I sought to emulate his effortless, understated approach to capturing subjects.
